Associate Professor Moira Sim
Associate Professor Moira Sim is the Coordinator of the Graduate and Higher Degree Systems Program in the School and Coordinator for Postgraduate Medicine. Moira is Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine who has been involved in the continuum of education for doctors and other health professionals since 1993. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Western Australia and is a member of the Western Australian Safety and Quality Council in Health Care. She works as a general practitioner and continues to act as a preceptor for medical students in the community. She has a broad background in health system development within general practice and its community linkages through her roles within the Divisions of General Practice in Australia at a local, state and national level. Moira is Deputy Director of the Systems Intervention Research Centre for Health. Her clinical and research interests are in mental health, comorbid drug and alcohol issues, early prevention and health system development within the community. Moira has a strong interest in other languages and cultures and is fluent in Italian, French, Spanish and German. Moira coordinates programs for medical practitioners, nurses and other allied health professionals in a range of areas including preventive medicine, family medicine, geriatric medicine, palliative care,occupational medicine health and safety, aviation medicine, and men's health and andrology. Some units in postgraduate medicine courses may be suitable as elective in other course areas. She is available to assist you with course and unit selection and development of your learning plans. |
