Ms Amanda Swift
Since qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1989 Amanda has worked in a wide variety of medical/surgical and high dependency areas, predominantly burns, plastics and ENT. Amanda spent several years at Royal Perth Hospital where she worked in various capacities, including Staff Development and Coordinator of the Preadmission Assessment Service. Amanda has also worked in private industry and has gained international experience working in Ireland as a Clinical Placement Coordinator for an undergraduate nursing programme and facilitating a shared governance pilot project, which also formed part of her masters research. Amanda has worked at ECU since returning to Perth in 2003, initially as a Clinical Supervisor and sessional tutor and as a lecturer since 2004. Teaching interests include clinical practice, theories and principles relating to nursing care, and ethics and law. As the Course Coordinator, Undergraduate Nursing, she is responsible for coordinating the development, delivery and review of the BSc(Nursing) programme. The Course Coordinator is able to assist students with issues relating to progress and achievement, including: advanced standing/enrolments/induction, in conjunction with the Student Support Officer; student grievances; academic progress; exchange/study abroad; TAFE pathways and campus transfers. |
