Paramedical Science
Paramedical Science is designed for those people seeking a career as an ambulance officer. After the first complete year of study students will become employees of St John Ambulance, whilst continuing their studies. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduating Ambulance Officers will receive a Bachelor of Science (Paramedical Science) qualification from the University. This will be followed by a further one year internship with St John Ambulance after which you can become a qualified paramedic. View course brochure
Admission Requirements
To qualify for consideration candidates must have:
- Standard University Admission Requirements
- Life Experience. If you are a school leaver you must have at least 3 years life experience after completing Year 12
- Possess a current St John Ambulance Senior First Aid Certificate
- Possess a WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence and have a good driving history
- Possess current police clearances
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess initiative, confidence and have a commitment to learn
- Have a genuine desire to care for people in need
- Be computer literate
- Be a permanent Australian resident
Course Location and Mode of Study
The course is available by full-time or part-time study on the Joondalup Campus and the St John College of Pre-Hospital Care. The course is also available by correspondence for those located in remote areas.
