The Postgraduate Diploma of Nursing (Mental Health) is designed for Registered General or Comprehensive Nurses seeking to gain a formal qualification in mental health nursing and RMHN registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA.

What Qualifications Are Required For Admission?
- Current General or Comprehensive registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA;
- A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree or an acceptable equivalent. Note, that students without a degree can also enter this course through the School's Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) procedure. Call graduate nursing on (61 8) 6304 3491 and ask to speak with the Course Coordinator for details on this mode of entry.
- Ability to attend clinical practice placements for two days per-week for two semesters;
- To complete the practical components of the course, students should live in Perth or be willing to spend some time in Perth. For students from non-metropolitan/regional areas, special arrangements can be made for their clinical practice units.

What Career Pathways Are Available?
As a fully Registered Mental Health Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia, graduates are able to work in the full range of mental health nursing settings, such as community Mental Health nurses; emergency departments as a mental health liaison nurse; child and adolescent mental health settings, as well as acute and long-term mental health fields.

Available on a full-time or part-time basis on the Joondalup campus, and most units are also available online.
