Graduate Certificate in Dementia Studies

The Graduate Certificate in Dementia Studies is ideally suited to health care professionals working with people who have dementia, including nurses, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and others. The course is relevant to acute care, long term residential aged care, and community care environments. Students can go on to do the Graduate Diploma and nurses can choose to go on to the Master of Clinical Nursing and Nurse Practitioner courses.

What Qualifications Are Required For Admission?
- Some previous experience or education in the area of working with people with dementia.
- A relevant Bachelor degree.
- Registered Nurses who do not have a degree, having qualified through the hospital-based system, will be eligible for enrolment at the discretion of the course coordinator, after assessment of relevant prior education and/or experience.

The Graduate Certificate in Dementia Studies can prepare you for leadership positions relevant to the provision of care and support for people with dementia.
