Commonwealth Government Supported (CGS) Places
![]()
You are eligible to apply for a CGS place if you are an Australian citizen, the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa, a New Zealand Citizen or a Permanent Resident residing in Australia for the duration of the course. Information on application is provided during the enrolment process.
A CGS place will entitle you to a reduced rate of tuition fee and is dependent upon eligibility.
If you are an Australian citizen or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa, payment of your tuition fees can be made by deferring them to a Higher Education Loan (HECS-HELP) or pay upfront and receive a further discount. For more information on these options please refer to http://www.goingtouni.gov.au/. If you are a Permanent Residency Visa Holder or New Zealand Citizen you are still eligible to receive a CGS place, however, fees must be paid upfront in full directly to ECU.
Please note that you will need to enroll in your selected course in order for the CGS funding to be offered. Upon successful acceptance of your course application, you will be sent an offer letter together with further information about the process for obtaining a CGS place.
Further detail is available through the Student Fees Office (student.fees@ecu.edu.au ). Should you decide not to proceed with your studies, you must withdraw before the final date of withdrawal without financial penalty to avoid fees.
